News T&T

In the generation of information explosion, our lives are awash with an overwhelming volume of news. If there was only a platform that could collect and organize news in a way that helped people follow more conveniently.

News T&T | Trace and Track—a platform that provides classified news. The system could classify news automatically by analyzing the article and continuously following the news, eventually collating and showing related news together.

What I did in the project

I was in charge of linking all of the elements together, such as databases and web crawlers. I also converted our interface design into real code. Since I had to become familiar with everything in the project, those works required extensive communication with my teammates. I realized that communication plays a crucial role in converting the design into code.

We would be providing news that covered the Southeast Asian region. So the map should be the most intuitive interface for users to choose which nation they wanted to know about. By using national flags, we could cross the language barrier to reach people all around the world.

By choosing the nation, the web would show four kinds of news: travel, health, business, and others. Every picture represents a piece of news.

By picking a piece of news, the web would show related news about similar subjects and sort them by date. 

We also included a search function to find specific topics of interest (e.g., bomb).

Since many people are using different devices to surf the internet, making this a Responsive Web Design (RWD) website would keep in touch with the trends. Hence, we designed the interface that fits in the smartphone’s screen size.
